Responsibilities: Responsible for developing, evaluating, and implementing new tests, methodologies, or products for the laboratory under the intellectual and scientific guidance of laboratory directors and staff consultants. Responsible for: 1) Improvement of existing methods or implementation of new technology of proven validity; 2) Maintaining complete and accurate documentation of data generated and work performed; 3) Organizing new method validation data, preparing data for publication and peer review, and participating in formal presentations within the institution; 4) Aiding in the investigation, installation, evaluation, and purchase of laboratory equipment, instrumentation, reagent systems, and other specialty items and: 5) Participating in the training of laboratory staff, residents, and students in principles of methods and application within the laboratory.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Science, or a related field. Minimum two years of laboratory experience including experience with immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization, immunofluorescence and molecular ancillary techniques in anatomic pathology laboratories.
Additional Qualifications: Excellent leadership, organizational, written and verbal communication, and problem-solving skills. Self-motivation and attention to detail. Ability to reproduce a reference method using available procedures without supervision. Demonstrated analytical and scientific competency with development and/or validation of lab techniques or procedures.
License or Certification: HT or HTL ASCP certification sought with qualifications in immunohistochemistry (QIHC) preferred.
Exemption Status: Exempt Compensation Detail: Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum salary every 2 weeks is approx $2,280.00, based on a full-time position. Hours/Pay Period: Full Time
